THE BEST BOOK TO LEARN SPANISH

It's difficult for a Spanish learner to know which is the best book to learn Spanish. There are many books for learning Spanish and they are very different.

I personally think the best books to learn Spanish are written by natives. Unfortunately many Spanish books out there are written by people with surnames like Williams, Wald, Jefferson, etc. so they could never be as good as a teacher from Spain, who will know Spanish perfectly because it's his main language. The thing I did to choose a good book for learning Spanish was to go to a website like GOODREADS, and see which was the best book for people who learn Spanish.

http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/22252.Top_Educational_Books_for_Learning_Spanish

The Top-5 are written by people with surnames like Mc Aree, Richmond, Grant, Kendris... (they don't sound very Spanish, am I right guys??) and one guy called DR. RICARDO ROQUE MATEOS, a university lecturer from Spain with a PhD in his language. Now, I don't know about you, but I had no doubts to choose A Good Spanish Book! because the author seems more reliable than the other ones who aren't even native, much less university professors of Spanish.

I was checking other rankings online and A Good Spanish Book! always appears in the first positions:

And I also saw a video of an expert recommending it as "the best book to learn Spanish for Beginners and Intermediate students"

So I got that one. And after trying it I can tell you that it's much better than any other book to learn Spanish. It's simply amazing. I am finally learning Spanish and this book is the reason why, so I am spreading the news to everyone studying Spanish, hoping that you too can finally master this beautiful language with the best book available. It's simply wonderful.

BEST NOVELS TO LEARN SPANISH

As you probably know, not all novels are suitable for people who are still at an intermediate level, so the best thing you can do to choose a good novel to learn Spanish is to go to a website like GOODREADS and check which are the best books to learn Spanish.

http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7625.Books_in_Spanish_for_Spanish_Learners

All the books in the top 10 of that list are good for Spanish learners. Any good book collection for students of Spanish should have most of them, keeping in mind that "Mafalda" is a comic collection for children, "Como agua para chocolate" is chick lit, and "20 poemas de amor" is poetry. If you need to get just 2 or 3 books to practice reading I would definitely choose:

El Túnel
Abcalia: El viaje de los sueños
El príncipe de la niebla

After the first positions you also have several good ones, but I personally prefer the Top-10.
